How did we let our nation's youth devolve into whiny bores who have blackberries and are afraid of germs? Back in my parent's day, bullying didn't even exist. They called it getting the shit beaten out of you back then. Not to mention, they didn't need the First Lady of the United States to tell them to slow down on the cookies and pie and no one on Sesame Street had AIDS. No wonder baby boomers are protesting like crazy, the future of America looks bleak.
ed. note: I didn't get my 10 hours of sleep so I am cranky. Love and light.
I want to go on a 10,000 word rant but I don't feel like typing that much. I think it all depends on your point of view and your age, and at most importantly, the way our legal system works. Most of the things your listed as cool, I thought were the stupidest things on earth at the time because I was a year or two too old for them. It's a never ending cycle.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the legal crap, you can get away with anything these days and at the same time, you can't get away with anything these days. Too much technology, too many people looking to make a buck without working hard, too many people "living off the system". Parents can now sue teachers, sue bus drivers, sue anyone and they win because of idiot judges, lawyers and laws. That's why people have turned into big pussies in the last 15 years.
I also have this theory about baby boomers...they were soft on their children because their parents were so hard on them. Many came home from WWII and were alcoholic, violent people who treated their kids like crap out of anger. Now their kids are too afraid to reprimand their kids out of fear of retaliation. Make sense or am I being obtuse?
No it totally makes sense....I just hope one generation will reach a middle ground, that being said I will spoil my kids rotten and they will probably be horrible
